Some time ago, I was given the opportunity to teach Religious Studies to a number of undergraduate and graduate students. Part of the program involved teaching a course entitled “Comparative Religions.” From such, some may wrongly conclude that one can choose any religion or belief-system, and that each one is of equal value. This mistaken notion sometimes expresses itself in a phrase such as “all religions lead to God.” As a matter of fact, most belief-systems lead away from the true God, rather than to Him!
Let me ask you, does your belief-system offer you everlasting life? Does it offer you the forgiveness of sins? Does it offer you peace with God? Does it offer you removal of God’s wrath? Does it offer you exclusive Truth – – that which no other system can offer – – that which corresponds with reality, the way things really are? Or, does your belief-system prescribe a dead system of ritual and good works? Does God really need those works that are like filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6)? Does your religion or belief system offer you the gift of God’s gracious salvation or does it still enslave you to a total hopelessness?
I will never teach that all religions are equal because I would be lying to you! There is only one belief that will save you from your sins and give you everlasting life – – faith in the person and work of the Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ! – – He died for your sins, rose again from the dead and gives everlasting life to the one who places his faith in Him and in Him alone! Jesus Christ, the Messiah, is not only the best answer, but the only answer to satisfy the deepest needs of men, women, and children globally! Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved! There’s NOTHING better or more exclusive in this entire universe, and that’s the Truth!
