FAITH or FEAR?

“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world – – our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?”

(1 John 5:4-5)

Some observations:

Fear looks around

FAITH looks up

Fear sees obstacles
~BUT~
FAITH transforms them into opportunities

Fear dreads uncertainties
~BUT~
FAITH depends on the certainty of God’s promises.

Fear leads to anxiety
~BUT~
FAITH looks with anticipation

Fear entertains doubts
~BUT~
FAITH encourages determination

Fear causes harm
~BUT~
FAITH cures it

Fear pleases nobody,
~BUT~
FAITH pleases God.

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him”

(Hebrews 11:6)

Here’s an easy acronym by which to remember the very essence of faith:

Forsaking

All

I

Trust

Him!
