Letter from A Cherished Friend

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:5, 6)

Before my godly friend George Geiger passed away of liver cancer, he penned this note in his Bible:

“Nothing happens unless the Omnipotent wills it to happen: He either permits it to happen, or He brings it about Himself.

While it is certainly true that God’s love for us does not protect us from pain and sorrow, it is also true that all occasions of pain and sorrow are under the absolute control of GOD.

Our suffering has meaning and purpose in GOD’S eternal plan, and He brings or allows to come into our lives only that which is for His glory and our good.

I know how hard things are right now – – but I’m praying you will not give in to despair. God works for good through even the most difficult events. You may not see His hand at work – – but when you look back, you will see His fingerprints everywhere.

Trust Him, He will not disappoint you! (5-8-03).”
