You may be surprised at the answer:
1. ALL OF US!
“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; and the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all” (Isaiah 53:6)
2. GOD!
“Him (Jesus), being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God (Acts 2:23a)
3. JUDAS!
“Then Judas, who was betraying Him, answered and said, ‘Rabbi, is it I?’ He said to him, ‘you have said it’’ (Matthew 26:25)
4. ROMAN SOLDIERS!
“Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus…” (Matthew 27:27)
5. SOME JEWISH LEADERS!
“And while He was being accused by the chief priests and elders…” (Matthew 27:12)
Ah, yes, we humans are all complicit in the sufferings and death of the Lord Jesus Christ, Gentile and Jew alike! Paul puts it this way, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). [Sin is anything that contradicts the God of the Bible].

The reason Jesus died on the cross was to satisfy God’s righteous demands by the shedding of blood for our sins. Without that, there would be no remission or forgiveness of our sins against a holy God, who required a perfect sacrifice. And only Christ qualified (Hebrews 9:22)!
You see, “… the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23). This is the message of Good Friday.
Accept Jesus’ substitution for your sins and He will give you everlasting life.
