Dividing Israel up…

“I (the God of the Bible) will also gather all nations, and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will enter into judgment with them there on account of My people, My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; they have also divided up My land” (Joel 3:2).

[I miss my conversations with Pastor John. No doubt, we would likely have a discussion about the current peace plans in the Holy Land. This article Pastor John wrote is timeless. Not because of John, but because they reflect the WORD of God. Agree or disagree with it as you will. HOWEVER, if you are not in agreement with this, you must wrestle with the Words of God as John challenges in this article.]

Joel was a prophet who lived around 835 B.C. God told him what to write regarding future events. One of these predictions deals with the battle of God against the nations that have mistreated the Jews, better known as the campaign of Armageddon. The other prediction in this context is the terrible price which God will exact from those who have divided His land. Technically, Israel is God’s land which He gave His people by His sovereign choice. That’s His divine prerogative.

The world is currently engaged in its diatribes and displays of hateful animosity towards the Christ of the Bible. And since they cannot attack Him personally, they seek to do so against His people – – Jews and Christians alike! Not only have these nations as a whole been instrumental in scattering the Jews, they are now once again in the process of dividing the land of Israel by cunning deceit and force.

Long story short: No one ever in all of human history has ever fought the God of the Bible and won. No one! And there are no exceptions. The last chapter has been written and the land will ultimately belong to the Jewish people. It may not be today, but it will be. Zechariah the prophet says that in the end, one third of the Jewish people will survive eternally (chapter 13:9; etc.).

I will bring the one-third through the fire, Will refine them as silver is refined, And test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name, And I will answer them. I will say, ‘This is My people’; And each one will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’ ” (Zechariah 13:9)

“And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn. (Zechariah 12:10)

You say, well what can I do about that? Good question! Let me suggest the following:

1. Realize that although the Jews are by no means perfect, God still chose them (Deuteronomy 7:6). Are you perfect or better than he is? “For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth. (Deuteronomy 7:6)

2. If you are a Christian, remember that Jesus Christ, the One you worship, is of Jewish descent. You can’t love Him and hate His people!

3. Pray for and love the Jewish people. God will bless you for that. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” (Genesis 12:3)
