“Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb is a reward” (Psalm 127:3)
“But Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven’” (Matthew 19:14)

For millions around the globe, the most prized possession consists of money:
They love it more than anything, and many will even die for having more of it!
This may come as a surprise or shock to a number of my readers, but there are some things in life far more important than the accumulation of money!

Here is my short list of what I consider indispensable:
- The forgiveness of one’s sins received through one’s repentance and confession of them to God, and its reception – – the gift of God’s grace – – provided by the blood-work of Jesus Christ. Salvation from God’s wrath and eternal life with Christ in Heaven – – that’s most important!
- Some may disagree with me about this next prized possession, but I’ll mention its importance anyway: – – children and grandchildren!
More than often, I’ve heard parents and grandparents utter these familiar words, “I wonder what will happen to my children – – especially since what is taking place in the world today.” Sound familiar?
I can hardly believe what I’ve seen taking place repeatedly: Some grown-ups don’t really care enough about what will happen to their offspring – – or to the offspring of others. Some, for whatever reasons, are indifferent to or not concerned about the spiritual well-being of their children – – at least not enough to let them hear of the love of Jesus and to pray for them daily.

Listen to Jesus’ strong words in Mark 9:42, “For whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea!”
So, what’s going to happen to our children? What legacy are we leaving?
