New Year is here, with its puzzles and fears,
In vain I search for fulfillment and cheers.
Children grow up in a terrible world,
Where pressures and miseries are constantly hurled.
Are there any bright spots to be had?
Is there a glimmer of hope to make one glad?
The feeling of disaster is in the air,
And, as we know, people just don’t care.
My dear friend, as you contemplate your life,
Time for serious change is ripe.
Humbly turn to God alone,
Adore the Christ who’s on the throne.
Believe in Him without delay,
He’s the truth, the life, the way.
Then no matter how rough the road,
He’ll help you carry the heavy load.
