RELIGIOUS AFFILIATION VERSUS TRUTH

“That I make you know the certainty of the words of truth, that you may answer words of truth to those who send you” (Proverbs 22:21)

“Sanctify them by Your truth, Your word is truth” (John 17:17)

Believe it or not, there are literally hundreds of belief systems in the world today: world religions, denominations, cults, sects, isms, etc. Many of them make claims of being or having the truth. But before we proceed, we need to establish a definition for “truth.” One of the most used definitions for truth is “that which corresponds with reality.” Truth is the way things really are! Furthermore, truth is the same the world over and is non-negotiable (for example, in the mathematical world, one plus one equals two).

Moving into the far more important spiritual realm, many religious bodies claim truth to be theirs. But do these stand the test of definition or Scripture?

  1. Do they believe that God created the world? After all, they live in it!
  2. Would they recognize historical accounts that substantiate the Bible?
  3. How about the prophetic portions of the Bible. (27% of the Bible is predictive in nature)! Many of these predictions have literally already come to pass with still many to come. Like it or not, my friend, that’s reality!
  4. Pain and evil are real – – don’t even bother trying to deny their reality!
  5. The Bible is completely true, reliable and for real! Do you believe that?
  6. God’s Son, Jesus Christ, gave evidence of His truth, when He took on a human body and lived and died and resurrected and ascended with plenty of eye-witness evidence! Does your belief system hold to that?

There’s lots more, but I’m running out of allotted space. Here’s the problem:

There are those who believe and those who don’t. And the consequences are for real (true) – – you can count on it: An eternal Heaven is reserved for believers, and an eternal Hell, for unbelievers. It’s that simple and true (for real)! Not so funny how most religious bodies either add to the Bible, subtract from the Bible, substitute for the Bible (other books, rituals or traditions), simply misinterpret the Bible, or they simply don’t believe it! They better reflect on the last prophecy of the Bible found in Revelation 22:18, 19!
