“The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever” (Isaiah 40:8)
“Heaven and earth will pass away, but My (Jesus’) words will by no means pass away” (Matthew 24:35)
God has spoken, is speaking and will speak through His Word, the Bible! All religions, religious literature, and all people will be judged by this infallible, eternal Book God wrote! Throughout history people have sought to eliminate this Book, but were unsuccessful. For example, the noted French infidel Voltaire claimed that after his death Christianity would cease to exist. He died in 1778. But 50 years after his death the Geneva Bible Society used his press and house to produce stacks of Bibles! No human being, group, religion, ideology, NOBODY will ever get rid of the Bible. As a matter of fact, it will be the contents of the Bible that will judge all humanity (Revelation 20:12): Those who believe(d) the Word of God will be eternally saved, and those who disbelieved will be eternally condemned (John 3:18, 36).
In 1917, the great hymn-writer (who wrote around 4,000 hymns or Christian songs), Haldor Liillenas, put it very succinctly:
“The Bible stands like a rock undaunted ‘mid the raging storms of time;
Its pages burn with the truth eternal, and they glow with a light sublime.
The Bible stands like a mountain tow’ring far above the works of men;
Its truth by none ever was refuted, and destroy it they never can.
The Bible stands and it will forever, when the world has passed away;
By inspiration it has been given, all its precepts I will obey.
The Bible stands every test we give it, for its Author is divine;
By grace alone I expect to live it, and to prove and to make it mine.
The Bible stands though the hills may tumble,
It will firmly stand when the earth shall crumble;
I will plant my feet on its firm foundation, for THE BIBLE STANDS!
