“Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. …So the LORD said, ‘I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth….’ But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD” (Genesis 6:5,7-8)
“Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, who eat up my people as they eat bread, and do not call on the LORD? …For [but] God is with the generation of the righteous” (Psalm 14:4-5)
Yes, my friend, evil exists everywhere! It may be defined as that which is opposed to the God of the Bible; in other words, supreme wickedness!
Here are some ways (of thousands) which illustrate evil in the world today:
- When one proudly becomes his own god
- When one loves and lives for money and what it can buy
- When one uses God’s name flippantly
- When one doesn’t take the time to reflect upon his Creator
- When one dishonors his parents
- When one murders another life
- When one indulges in illicit sexual affairs
- When one steals what doesn’t belong to him
- When one lies “without blinking an eye”
- When one craves for that which belongs to another (and is willing to secure it)
- When one blames or hates God and one’s neighbor as well
God’s judgment is about to fall on this depraved world! I think sooner, rather than later! It’s “just around the corner,” and no one will be able to stop it!
But here is the good news: You, as an individual, need to REPENT of your own sins against a holy God – – that means to have a change of mind and accompanying actions. Confess these sins to God alone and He will graciously forgive you. Then pray that He will save many others before this whole world will be judged by the Almighty! Believe HIM alone and He will deliver you from the outpouring of His wrath upon a sin-laden humanity!
