“For whatever things were written before written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope” (Romans 15:4)

Several years ago, I wrote an article for the paper entitled “Lessons I Have Learned….” As time has passed, I am finding that there were lessons I did learn, but there are still numerous ones I’m working on (or should I say, they are working on me)? Here are some of them:
- I am learning that there are many things I don’t understand in this life.
- I am learning that even “nice” people can turn on you, but God never will.
- I am learning that my most valuable treasure and gift from God is His salvation, followed by my family.
- I am learning that reading is a great blessing, and sometimes, a luxury.
- I am learning to be greatly thankful to the Lord for my true friends.
- I am learning that “stuff” can be a curse.
- I am learning that God’s “silence” and pain have their purposes (although I cannot always explain, understand, or appreciate them).
- I am learning that trusting God is hard sometimes, but always worth it.
- I am learning that one is successful by pleasing Christ, and that this success is not measured by human standards.
- I am learning that these lessons are found in the Bible and that God is patient in teaching them to me. That brings comfort & hope to my soul!
Great lesson on lessons learned. Praying for the Lord to heal you. Don and Beth Ann
