“Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually” (Genesis 6:5)
From the very beginnings of the human race, evil penetrated the minds and actions of mankind. It was and is part and parcel of humans succumbing to the temptation of the fountainhead of all evil – – the devil himself.
I think we need to begin our little study with a definition of evil: we could say that it is anything and everything that is contrary to the God of creation and His revelation (the Bible)! [I know this is a bit simplistic, but it is accurate]!
Would you believe that there are many who blindly deny the existence of evil; some because they don’t think it really matters, some who do not see themselves as “that bad,” and some who would rather use a “gentler” vocabulary (such as “bad,” “unfortunate,” “difficult,” etc.).

Does evil exist? How about a few “samplers?” (In alphabetical order):
- Abusers of all kinds?
- Corrupt judges?
- Enforcers of immorality?
- Hitler and his likes?
- Liars and deceivers?
- People who shorten or want to eliminate your food?
- People who steal your identity or other important documents? T
- hose powers who seek your destruction? Wars?
- White-collar criminals?
- And the list goes on and on…!
- Oh, did I mention God-haters and Bible-rejectors or mockers?! That’s not evil??
One can pretend that there are no consequences for evil-doers. Really?

Try again! Judgment will happen soon and the ultimate Judge of the earth, the Lord Jesus Christ Himself will be the Judge of all who have rejected Him and His Word! I didn’t make this up! God said so! You won’t have anyone to blame, except yourself! [Evil always exists in concert with its enactor]!
John concludes, “Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. …And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:11, 15).
