“Who has ascended into heaven, or descended? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has bound the waters in a garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name, and what is His Son’s name, if you know?” (Proverbs 30:4)
One of the great books in my library is by McAleer, The Cosmic Mind-Boggling Book. This volume seeks to picture large astronomical facts in easy-to-understand concepts. Here are some excerpts from it:
- If it costs 1 penny to ride a 1,000 miles, it would cost $930 for a trip to the sun and $260 million for a trip to the nearest star, Alpha Centauri.
- It would take a VW Rabbit 52 million years to get there at 55 mph, which is equal to 722,000 lifetimes.
- We have direct proof of the existence of at least 100 billion-billion stars … and we’re still counting.
- Our Milky Way galaxy contains at least 200 billion stars. If one square inch would contain 200 stars, you would need more than 160 acres to accommodate the Milky Way alone.
- It would take you 5,000 years just to count one star per second.
- The Milky Way galaxy is one of an estimated 100 billion galaxies in the universe. It represents about one trillionth of the universe, which is like comparing a very small metal nail with the mass of a 100,000-ton ship.
- A star named Epsilon, relatively near to us … If it were hollow, it would contain more than 2.3 billion of our suns!
And this is just a sampling of seeking to have a minuscule understanding of the universe of which we are a microscopic part (“a drop in the bucket”)!
So, who made this world, or, how did it come into being? In order to give it an evasive answer, the atheistic evolutionist resorts to unscientific theories to avoid any mention of the Creator, the God of the Bible!
By the way, did you also notice from the Book of Proverbs that God has a Son?? As a matter of fact, His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ is spoken of as the Creator of our vast universe!
All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. (John 1:3)
For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. (Colossians 1:16–17)
has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; (Hebrews 1:2)
Only fools reject the biblical, Triune God of creation!
