“For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. …And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew Armageddon ” (Revelation 16:14, 16)
“These will make war with the Lamb (Jesus Christ), and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful” (Revelation 17:14)
“And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make was against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. …And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh” (Revelation 19:19, 21)
For the past few years, I have seen more articles, books, talks, and movies use the title “Armageddon” than at any previous time I can recall. Those who employ this term use it with a very negative connotation. Several of them connect the term with reference to a coming World War 3.
In reality, Armageddon is a place-name in Israel, where, after the seven most horrible years in the entire world have taken place, it becomes the battleground of demon-driven leaders who are still alive at the end of these seven years. These kings and their armies come to battle their nemesis – – Jesus, the sacrificial Lamb of God, who died on the cross for man’s sins and rose again the third day. All of these armies, including the worst monster of all times, the antichrist, are slain by the mouth of Jesus Christ. This will be a massacre of the greatest magnitude ever, with Jesus, the King over all kings, being victorious! The birds will be filled with the flesh of all who have gathered, in mass, to express their final hatred against God! Their destiny will be the eternal Lake of Fire, which has no “exit” door!
This is the biblical account of Armageddon! This is exactly what will happen, because GOD said so in His Word, the Bible. Where will YOU be in the coming days, or weeks, or months (if you should live that long)? Who determines your destiny? The prophet Amos (chapter 4:12) appropriately urges, “Prepare to meet your God!” Beg God to forgive your sins and save you before it’s too late. Today is the day of salvation, it may be your last opportunity!
