You Are Forever (And Death Is Just a Portal)

“And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting contempt” (Daniel 12:2)

“Most assuredly, I (Jesus Christ) say to you, ‘he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me (God the Father) has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life… and come forth – – those who have done good (believing God’s Word) to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil (disbelieving God’s Word), to the resurrection of condemnation’” (John 5:24, 29)!

In his excellent book The Interpretation of Prophecy, Paul Tan tells of the Dutch historian Hendrick Van Loon’s picturing of the length of eternity: “High up in the North, in the land called Svitjod (old Norse word for Sweden), there stands a rock. It is 100 miles high, and 100 miles wide. Once every thousand years, a little bird comes to this rock to sharpen its beak. When the rock has thus been worn away, then a single day of Eternity will have gone by” (p. 358).

Tan provides us with another illustration dealing with the length of “forever,” “eternity” and/or “everlasting”:  If we should “…cover the earth and universe with zeros (preceded by any other number) … we shall have discovered the length of one day in Eternity” (p. 360)!

If you read or reread the Bible verses quoted above, you will find the word “shall.” God says there will be a resurrection of all mankind – – no doubt about it! In simple terms, every human being will spend the rest of his existence in one of two locations FOREVER – – in Heaven or in Hell (and you would be out of your mind to disregard this, God’s Truth)! Jesus Christ, God’s Son, will be the Judge of all to pronounce everyone’s eternal destiny (John 5:22, 27)!

WHERE WILL YOU SPEND THE REST OF ETERNITY??
