Trouble Up Ahead, And We’ve Only Just Begun

“And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these things are the beginning of sorrows” (Matthew 24:6-8)

As I’m typing away on my computer, the threat of war looms large in the near horizon. Some think that another world war might be in the offing. Russia has invaded Ukraine and China is threatening to invade Taiwan. Another enemy, North Korea, is also flexing its muscles. In the meantime, the West seems to display weakness.

I’m not trying to scare you, but we live in a real world manipulated by evil people but controlled by the God of the Bible – – the only true and living God! Nothing catches Him by surprise! As a matter of fact, He has ordained all that comes to pass. We may not fully understand His divine plan, but He is all powerful and wise, and is executing His prophetic plan for this world! His Word will never fail or pass away! Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. (Matthew 24:35)

So, what can I do? Good question! But how about some solid answers? OK:

  1. Pray and ask God to help you conquer your fears.
  2. Pray and ask God to forgive your sins and give you everlasting life.
  3. Pray for and show compassion to the helpless and downtrodden.
  4. This is a good time to begin reading your Bible seriously, believing what you read. I recommend the Psalms and the Gospel of John, for starters.

There is little time left! Paul writes, “Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation” (II Corinthians 6:2b).
