“And Jesus answered and said to them: ‘Take heed that no one deceives you’” (Matthew 24:4)
“But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived” (2 Timothy 3:13).
Deception will be one of the great tell-tale signs of our times. More and more people will be duped by professional liars. They will cause others to believe what is not true (dictionary definition). Here are just a few modern versions of this:
- “Things will get better soon”
- “It’s in the mail”
- “It’s not about money or power”
- “There’s a warm light for everyone at the end of the tunnel”
- “Other religions are equally true”
- “Morality is inconsequential and old-fashioned”
- “I’m in charge of my own destiny”
- “Because God is love, He won’t judge me”

Many such untruths are advocated by “clever” tricksters who seek to delude the recipients by their falsehoods. It really boils down to who has the right to say what – – what is the source of the deceivers’ authority, and what is their agenda! There are many roads that lead to an eternal hell, but only the Truth will set one free (And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32)). “Your (God’s) Word is Truth” (Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. (John 17:17))!
Whether you (or others for that matter) like it or not, God has spoken, and His Word is final and authoritative. God cannot lie, but the devil (and His followers) are the masters of lies and deceit! Whom would you rather believe? The consequences are serious and eternal! Better think twice and act fast: “Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” (2 Corinthians 6:2b). “Jesus said to him, ‘I am THE WAY, THE TRUTH, and THE LIFE. No one comes to the Father (God, who is in Heaven) except through Me (Jesus Christ)’” (John 14:6).
Tomorrow may be too late!
