Injustice

“And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily” (Luke 18:7, 8a)

“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap” (Galatians 6:7)

Be honest, doesn’t it bother you when people get away with “it?” The criminal gets his wrist slapped, the judiciary sides with evil-doers, the insurance company doesn’t want to reimbursing you, you are vilified and marginalized for your biblical beliefs, somebody less qualified than yourself gets the job instead of you, etc. etc. Thousands of times, every day, thousands of people are on the receiving end of injustice, and many find themselves helpless to withstand its onslaught! Often those who can help refuse to do so or simply do not care about the plight of the afflicted.

In the verses listed above, we find THREE simple and helpful thoughts regarding this evil in our day: GOD WILL RESPOND, GOD WILL REPAY, and MAN WILL REAP!

  1. GOD WILL RESPOND – – although He is presently long-suffering with the just and unjust alike. Notice the word “speedily,” meaning soon and/or suddenly.
  2. GOD WILL REPAY – – it will not be long now before those who have trusted Him will be avenged!
  3. MAN WILL REAP – – Every person who has ever lived will be judged by Jesus Christ, the ultimate Judge of the earth! For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son, (John 5:22) – – and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man. (John 5:27). Those who were righteous will receive just rewards; those who were unjust will receive commensurate punishment – – NO exceptions! Those who meted out injustice to others will have God’s justice meted out to them. This determination and action by God is written into the very fiber of this universe – – He so decreed it!

Those of you who are afflicted, keep praying to the Lord who will help you, Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16) His help is on the way! For those who practice injustice, no matter how small or great, you will personally reap what you sowed!  Ask God to forgive you and (you) make things right with God and those you hurt!
