The Supreme Court

“A fiery stream issued and came forth from before Him (Jesus Christ). A thousand thousands ministered to Him; ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him. The court was seated, and the books were opened. …But the court shall be seated, and they shall take away his (the antichrist’s) dominion, to consume and destroy it forever. Then the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people, the saints of the Most High. His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey Him”  (Daniel 7:10, 26, 27)

When people think about the Supreme Court, they refer to a court composed of human beings who make judicial and authoritative decisions in significant cases they choose to try. They have the power to overrule lower court decisions, and their verdicts are final.

The Bible tells of a Supreme Court that is superior to human Superior Courts. It is headed up by the Creator of this universe – – God, and His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Several facts emerge from this:

  1. No one in this universe can overturn God’s final verdicts!
  2. No one will escape God’s just judgments, not even one! Every human being who was born by the time God’s judgment takes place will stand before the Judge of the earth! This would include everyone, from the highest echelons of society to the lowest. Even powerful evil angels will be judged by God and His people! Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life? (1 Corinthians 6:2–3)

Yes, there will be those who will escape God’s wrath – – all those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ (alone), the One who took their punishment on Himself and forgave their sins. But He was wounded for our transgressions,He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,And by His stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5) They will not be condemned. There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. (Romans 8:1)

Will you be saved ? ~or~ Will you be sentenced ?
