A Great Hymn from The Past (especially for believers)

“But as it is written, ‘Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of men the things which God has prepared for those who love Him'” (I Corinthians 2:9)

The following hymn was copyrighted in 1941, penned by Esther Rusthoi. You may recall that this was in the middle of WW II! It is entitled “When We See Christ” – –

“Oft-times the day seems long, our trials hard to bear,

We’re tempted to complain, to murmur and despair;

But Christ will soon appear to catch His Bride away,

All tears forever over in God’s eternal day.

Some-times the sky looks dark with not a ray of light,

We’re tossed and driven on, no human help in sight;

But there is one in heav’n who know our deepest care,

Let Jesus solve your problem – – just go to Him in pray’r.

Life’s day will soon be o’er, all storms forever past,

We’ll cross the great divide to glory, safe at last;

We’ll share the joys of heav’n – – a harp, a home, a crown,

The tempter will be banished, we’ll lay our burden down.

IT WILL BE WORTH IT ALL WHEN WE SEE JESUS,

LIFE’S TRIALS WILL SEEM SO SMALL WHEN WE SEE CHRIST;

ONE GLIMPSE OF HIS DEAR FACE ALL SORROW WILL ERASE,

SO BRAVELY RUN THE RACE TILL WE SEE CHRIST!”

  1. Greetings from Winona Lake! This hymn is truly great especially for us today. I just picked it out to use in a Sunday Morning prelude to our Service here at the Village. I included it with several other songs about Christ’s return and seeing Him face to face. The Lord is allowing me to play the organ for some of the services here. On Oct. 8th they installed a 3 manual Rodgers Electronic Organ ( a gift from a church that was storing it in a closet). A professional organist plays 2-3 Sundays a month and I play 2 Sundays—quite a contrast!! I really miss Bob being at the piano but he is really enjoying heavenly music now! I do read your TEACHER FEATURE articles and find them quite interesting. Thanks for putting me on your list. Love in Christ, Margaret
