“For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. …And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew ARMAGEDDON (Revelation 16:14, 16)
Just a short time ago I went to the Google search-engine and typed in the word “Armageddon.” In 90 seconds, I was informed of 25.4 million results or hits! A number of them referred to the 1998 movie by that title, not to mention tons of articles and other publications referencing this word.
In the Encyclopedia Britannica, Robert Lerner gives us a very succinct statement about the biblical Armageddon. He writes, “(…probably Hebrew: ‘Hill of Megiddo’), in the New Testament, place where the kings of the earth under demonic leadership will wage war on the forces of God at the end of history” (Excerpted 4/12/2021).
Needless to say, these evil forces against God will be totally destroyed, demolished by Him, as scripture says: And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh. (Revelation 19:19–21)
Let’s do a quick chronology as to when this will take place: In a short matter of time, all genuine Christians who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ alone, will be suddenly taken to heaven. Some time thereafter, there will be a period of seven years, the absolute worst in all of human history… For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. (Matthew 24:21). Towards the end of this period, known as “The Tribulation period,” Armageddon will take place.
Due to limited space, allow me to share a few concluding thoughts with you:
- The worst time in history is just around the corner.
- You can avoid going through this time by placing your faith in Christ alone – – not in other people, religions or rituals. Your good works will NOT save you!! (Christianity is a relationship with God through Christ, not a religion)!
- In the end, all evil loses, ALL evil events, ideologies and people!
- There will be no peace on earth till Jesus, the Prince of peace, conquers all evil. TRUST HIM ALONE for the salvation of your soul and eternal life!
