“As it is written: ‘There is none righteous, no not one; there is none who understands; there is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; they have together become unprofitable; there is none who does good, no, not one. Their throat is an open tomb; with their tongues they have practiced deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips; whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood; destruction and misery are in their ways; and the way of peace they have not known. There is no fear of God before their eyes'” (Romans 3:10-18)
Have you ever wondered why there are people who are bent on harming others and unapologetically pursue evil? Tragically, history is replete with these individuals. When one of them passes from the scene, there are all too many to fill his vacancy. These are found in positions of leadership as well as in humbler circumstances. It begs the question, why can’t there just be peace and harmony among all people?

Is there an explanation for what I call “destructionists?” I believe there is: You see, the chief of these is satan, God’s antagonist, who is constantly engaged in destroying what is good. In him there is no good whatsoever, not even one iota. And he has myriads of followers who subscribe to his evils. As a matter of fact, all mankind is born with a depraved sinful nature – – with an evil bent, if you please. That does not mean that man will necessarily be as bad as possible; for as you know, there are many people who are clean, good, moral people. But none is ever good enough to merit God’s salvation. That’s a miracle of God’s gracious gift. that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. (Ephesians 2:7-9)
Destructionists are those who also oppose God and His Word, the Bible – – as a habit of life, whenever they have the opportunity. And for this, there is a very high price-tag! II Thessalonians 1:6-9 puts it this way: “Since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you, and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power.”
