A Sure Remedy for Fear and Panic

“Fear not, for I (the biblical God) am with you; be not dismayed (to gaze about in anxiety), for I (alone) am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10)

The very word Corona strikes dread in the hearts of millions: Will I be next? What will happen to my family? How will I pay my bills? When will this virus die out? Will it? Will I be a prisoner in my own home? What about getting food? Are there other calamities ahead?

I just received an email from a missionary stating that in Africa alone, more than 30 (of 54) countries have been affected. That’s in Africa alone! Far more than 100 countries of the world have documented cases of this “bug” plague. We have friends in Italy who were ordered by the police to stay put in their house. (That was not the vacation they envisioned).

BUT, there is a remedy for fear and panic. Let me explain:

  1. Could it be that the God of the Bible has allowed this to happen for a reason? It certainly did not catch Him by surprise!
  2. Could the reason be that He wants to be your (only) God?
  3. Could it be that He wants you to fully trust Him and Him alone?
  4. Could it be that the Bible, God’s Word is the only answer and that He wants you to read it and believe it? (You could begin with the Psalms).

If you cower in fear, it is not because there is no answer or solution! So,

  1. What will it take for you to open up the Bible and believingly read it?
  2. When will you finally call upon the name of the only true God?
  3. When will you forsake your sinful lifestyle and worldly indulgences?

So, who is your God? Who alone can and will help you? When will you turn to Him alone for help? Seek Him while He may be found! Isaiah 41:10 is for those who turn to the Lord in full trust!

Here are some encouraging scriptures.

“And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; for You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You” (Psalm 9:10)

“The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him” (Psalm 28:7)

“Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass” (Psalm 37: 4, 5)

“Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God (I will praise His word), in God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?”(Psalm 56:3, 4)

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:5, 6)

“The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD shall be safe” (Proverbs 29:25)

“Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; for YAH, the LORD, is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation”(Isaiah 12:2)

“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Trust in the LORD forever, for in YAH, the LORD, is everlasting strength” (Isaiah 26:3, 4)

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; but its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit” (Jeremiah 17:7, 8)
