“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance” (II Peter 3:9)
If you are very honest, chances are good that the future frightens you. What will happen to you, your children and your bank account (if you have one)? How can you escape the inevitable trouble that is on the horizon? Is there any way to avoid dying and its often miserable accompaniments of fear and suffering?
May I assure and reassure you of two very sure facts?
- The immediate future will become intensely worse before it becomes any better. What is to happen in short order and rapid succession of events will be enough to make anybody’s hair stand on end. As a matter of fact, many will perish (according to the Bible, God’s Word)!
- But conversely, this same Bible tells us that there is a way to escape the coming wrath of the living God. GOD is in total control of history, not mere man! And it is this eternal, all-powerful God who offers you salvation: not only from the holocaust to come, but especially the salvation of your soul from hell and the lake of fire. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ NOW before it is eternally too late. There’s still hope. Don’t delay. Simply ask Jesus Christ the Son of the living God to save you by His grace alone and He will do so according to His promise. Tomorrow may be too late!

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
For many, things look rather bleak. Money is tight, (good) jobs are unavailable and there are many lay-offs, anger and frustrations are mounting, worries and fears are dominating the emotions and there is a pervading sense of hopelessness. People are proverbially scratching their heads for solutions and foremost in their thinking is how they are going to survive and who is going to help them out of this depressing outlook.
I wish I had the space to develop this most important concept of hope and help. I also wish that you would actually take the advice that wise king Solomon penned above, some 3,000 years ago. We are now experiencing the results of what we have done for so long – – to trust in man. We are beginning to realize that to trust in people is a big mistake (not that some people are not trustworthy)! The fact remains that people in and of themselves often cannot help, when only God can. Someone has once remarked that the middle verse in some of our English Bibles is Psalm 118:8, “It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.”

Do you really trust the God of the Bible? Have you placed your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, God’s Son, for salvation? Can you now face the future with hope in Christ? Quite frankly, only God can help any of us for what’s ahead! He wants to help us, but we must call upon and rely on Him completely! How bad do things have to get before you finally bow your knees to the Lord Jesus Christ?
Do not put your trust in princes, Nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help. His spirit departs, he returns to his earth; In that very day his plans perish. Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in the LORD his God, Psalm 146:3-5

Amen Pastor John. So very well spoken and insightful, and right on point… Blessings. 🙌
