“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you. I will uphold you with My righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10).
Fear is plaguing millions of people today, and it comes in many varieties: there is the fear of the unknown, the fear of death, the fear of failure, the fear of loss, the fear of crime, the fear of war, the fear of poverty, the fear of divorce. And these are only a select few of the phobias people live with today. There are some who are virtually afraid of even their own shadow!

What this boils down to is that ultimately one’s anxieties reflect one’s dread of pain, suffering and accountability. Of course there is more to fear than that. The bottom line is the question, how can I conquer this fear and live without it? The key which unlocks the mystery of fear is called faith, and specifically the faith or trust that is directed towards the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God. It is He alone who not only has the capability of releasing you from your many fears, but also actually wants to do so. Why not get to know Him, whom to know is everlasting life (John 17:3)? Take the time to daily open up the Word of God, the Bible, and begin to read passages such as the Gospel of John. It will give you hope, bring gladness to your heart, and most of all, alleviate your fears.
