“In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His (own) will”.
(Ephesians 1:11)
Nothing that happens to the child of God, the Christian, is by chance, accident or ‘luck.’ The Bible clearly teaches that a sovereign and good God is directing the course of the believer’s life to the minutest detail. If the Christian can grasp this glorious truth, it will release him from worry, fear and anxiety. The knowledge of this certainty provides an inner tranquility and serenity the world does not have. God not only does as He pleases, but notice also that He does everything purposefully. This is what gives me purpose for living: God, who is in total control. What a marvelous thought! In addition, notice that this same and only God has provided an incredible inheritance for His children, beyond human description!
How does one become a child of God and an heir of Jesus Christ? John 1:12 states, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” It’s that easy! Read it again and believe it to become His child and heir of all His promised blessings.
In recent years, a new movement has been advocated by dozens of bonifide scientists, it is called the “Intelligent Design” movement, or I.D. movement, for short. These scientists have long been persuaded that the darwinian evolutionary system is bankrupt and fails to account for such critical concerns as the “missing link,” or transitional forms.
Scientist, hard-pressed to find such forms, have relinquished their beliefs about evolution and have turned to think about intelligent design. This universe bears the marks of such design, and with it, supports the thesis of a super-human designer we call God! His imprint on this universe has been evident since He created it. And it is this God who works all things according to the counsel of His will. That’s divine design!
This design incorporates the revelation as to who God is and what He wants from you. The God of this universe wants to provide you with a relationship to Him through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. He came to die on the cross for your sins, so that by believing in Him you will have life with Him for ever and ever. This is a grand divine design: a personal relationship with God through His Son. Place your trust in Him alone and you will enjoy His incredible inheritance eternally! It doesn’t get any better than that!
