Bad People In Heaven And Good People In Hell?

“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? …And such were some of you. But you were washed, sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God”

  (I Corinthians 6:9-11)

Some of you may think, “this guy has totally gone off his rocker! Everybody knows that bad people go to hell and good people go to heaven. Where is this guy coming from? He  sounds like a heretic to me!”

Well, let’s do some thinking together: Since the Bible says that all are sinners (Romans 3:10, 23; etc.), that simply means that all have fallen short of God’s righteous standard and are therefore hell-bound (Romans 6:26; etc.). The “all” in Romans 3:23 refers to all, whether good moral people or immoral ones! There will be many nice do-gooders, who are philanthropic, who faithfully attend their houses of worship, who help the poor, etc. etc. who are not on their way to heaven. They are good in their own esteem as well as in the eyes of others, but they are simply not good enough for heaven!

Well, then, you mean to tell me that bad, immoral people go to heaven? Let’s think again: All people are bad, meaning that none are good enough, according to God’s standard, to enter heaven. So, if anyone enters heaven, it has to be that 1. He was bad at one time; and 2. Something happened to make him worthy of heaven, something he could not achieve on his own or with the help of others!

Here’s the glorious fact: Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, shed His blood on the cross for sinners, so that the one believing (in, on) Him (and Him ALONE), would not perish in hell, but have everlasting life (John 3:16-18)! These were washed from their sins, set apart to God and declared just or right by God Himself! Only Christ can make bad people good – – good enough for heaven! No religion, good deeds or church. Just CHRIST ALONE!!!
