It’s All About The Epicenter

“Thus says the Lord God: ‘This is Jerusalem; I have set her in the midst of the nations and the countries all around her’ “(Ezekiel 5:5)

The epicenter is the very core and heart of this world According to Ezekiel the prophet (and the entire Word of God, for that matter), God says that the epicenter of this world is Israel. The epicenter of Israel is Jerusalem. The epicenter of Jerusalem is the Temple, and the epicenter of the Temple is the Holy of Holies, where God has chosen to dwell amidst His people

The focal point of the Bible is not America, Canada, Russia, China, etc, but none other than the tiny nation of Israel and its rightful inhabitants, the Jewish people. Yes, the Bible does address other nations surrounding Israel, such as Babylon (modern Iraq), Persia (modern Iran), Jordan, Egypt, etc. But God insists that Israel has been chosen by Him as the epicenter of the world. This is the way it has been and ultimately will be in the future. Listen to the words of the Lord through Moses the prophet: “For you (Israel) are a holy people to the LORD your God; the LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth. The LORD did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples; but because the LORD loves you, and because He would keep the oath which He swore to your fathers… (Deuteronomy 7:6-8a).

If you don’t accept this truth, don’t argue with me! It didn’t originate with me. It came from the eternal God of this universe, the Creator. It was His sovereign choice and it will always be His divine prerogative!

Does God have a plan for the other nations of the world as well? Absolutely! But His eternal focus is on Jerusalem. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Pray that many (Arabs, Jews and others) will be brought to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords, the Ruler of the nations.

Are you saved?
