Itty-Bitty Humanoids Against God

“Inasmuch as there is none like You, O LORD (You are great, and Your name is great in might). Who would not fear You, O King of the nations? For this is Your rightful due. For among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like You. But they are altogether dull-hearted and foolish…. But the LORD is the true God. He is the living God and the everlasting King. At His wrath the earth will tremble, and the nations will not be able to endure His indignation…. He has made the earth by His power, He has established the world by His wisdom, and has stretched out the heavens at His discretion. When He utters His voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens: and He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth. He makes lightning for the rain, He brings the wind out of His treasuries. Everyone is dull-hearted, without knowledge… (portions of Jeremiah 10:6-14).

At the time of this writing, the world’s greatest fear (according to the Pew Polls – – February, 2019) is that of climate change. Other categories are also mentioned such as the threat posed by numerous nations, the defeat of ISIS, and cyber-attacks.

Now why is there a worldwide angst in regards to climate change? Why does this category head the list? May I suggest that the real reason is very simple indeed – – man can’t control the climate, only God can! And foolish man, fully aware of the eternal consequences of his rebellious bias, still chooses to reject the Creator and Ruler of this universe, instead of submitting to Him.
Ah yes, we are really smart: we have landed on the lifeless moon (which may be reached in 5 months, going at 70 mph); while reaching the nearest star, Alpha Centauri, would take 40 million years at the same 70 mph rate)!  So much for “brilliant” humanoids!

We are arrogant, cocky and proud (pick your synonym)! We have yet to conquer viral diseases, cancers, economic woes, domestic and national troubles, wars, etc. But we absolutely reject the only true God of this universe and His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ – – man’s only hope! Will it be itty-bitty humanoids against God, or will it be God against itty-bitty humanoids?! I echo with Paul, “For this reason I bow my knees (presently and habitually) to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Ephesians 3:14). And you?
