“Now the (Holy) Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons” (ITimothy 4:1)
“But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived” (II Timothy 3:13)
“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine (systematic biblical teaching), but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables” (II Timothy 4:3, 4)
Man, do we ever have unbiblical and anti-biblical teachers today! Here's a sampler:
- Those who deny that Jesus Christ is God
- Those who claim He was only one prophet of many
- Those who teach that there are mistakes in the Bible
- Those who promote that some books of the Bible are unnecessary
- Those who claim that studying Bible prophecy is misguided
- Those who teach that the church has replaced Israel
- Those who want you to believe that God wants you healthy & wealthy
- Those who advocate that ultimately everyone goes to heaven
- Those who think heaven is achieved through good works
- Those who insist one must be water-baptized to enter heaven
- Those who reject the triune God
- Those who add or subtract from the Bible
- Those who have decided that there is no afterlife or accountability
- Those who imagine that one can be a Christian and hedonist at the same time
- Those who preach God’s love without warning of His wrath against sin
The only true God, the God of the Bible has spoken through Paul (the apostle) these words with the ring of finality: “Having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away” (II Timothy 3:5)!
