ADDING -ed to WORDS with VC, VCe, VVC, and VCC SPELLING PATTERNS


This lesson consists of words that can be categorized according to spelling patterns when adding -ed.

Sort words that doubled the final consonant before adding -ed under VC.

Sort words that have root words ending in a silent -e and simply added a -d under VCe.

Sort words that have two vowels and a consonant (and then added just -ed) under VVC.

Sort words that have one vowel and two consonants (and add then added just -ed) under VCC.

Sort words that don't fit into any of these categories under Oddballs.
